The Randy Meyer Racing Team prepares to return to Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH for the next two NHRA events this weekend and next weekend. It has been two years since the team competed at the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals since they were unable to in 2020 due to COVID-19, and in 2019 because of a schedule conflict and attend a different race during that weekend. The last time the team was at the Norwalk Nationals was in 2018 where they took home the event win and infamous ice cream scoop trophy after Megan Meyer defeated TJ Coughlin Jr. This was also the first race that Randy and his oldest brother, Joe Meyer, were able to park both of their cars in the winner’s circle.

Julie Nataas was able to represent Oslo at the Norwalk Regional event in 2019 where she qualified second and finished in the semi-finals while rookie Camrie Caruso carried the Randy Meyer Racing Team to victory.

“I’m excited to get back in the driver’s seat with OTG, NGK Spark Plugs and Lucas Oil by my side after a few weeks off,” said Julie. “This is going to be my first National event in Norwalk and since they’re famous for their ice cream I hope we can have some of that number one qualifier ice cream and a Wally and spoon to top it off at the end of the weekend.”

This will also be Rachel Meyer’s first time competing at the Norwalk National event, “It’s been years since I’ve been to this track when my dad was driving, and this will be my first time racing on the dragstrip. They have an awesome facility and I can’t wait to try to win it for NGK Spark Plugs and NTK Sensors since it’s the closest race to their headquarters,” said Rachel.

The team will kick off first round of qualifying for Top Alcohol Dragster at 12:45pm ET followed by second round of qualifying at 4:45pm. The first round of eliminations will be held at 2pm after the third and final qualifying round at 10am on Saturday, followed by second round of eliminations at 6:30pm on Saturday. The semi-finals and final round will be held on Sunday.

Julie Nataas will then compete at the Norwalk Regional event the following weekend on Friday-Saturday to defend her points lead of the North Central Region Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.
