Julie Nataas scores back-to-back wins in Dallas, Texas with the Randy Meyer Racing (RMR) Team last weekend winning the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Regional event held at Texas Motorplex. This win is the 95th NHRA win for RMR with 53 coming from regional races and 42 at national races. Julie and RMR have already collected two wins in the 2023 season and have a strong points lead for both regional and national series.

Julie qualified in the second position running a 5.31 ET in the OTG/Right Trailers dragster, while teammate Hunter Green claimed seventh with his best time of 5.41 ET in the Bond-Coat/Boxo Tools dragster. Unfortunately that paired the two for a first round match-up. Hunter was eager and got the lead off the starting line with a nearly perfect reaction time, but the car slowed down at the top end to a 5.49 ET at 221 mph with Julie taking the win running 5.28 ET at 278 mph.

Julie went on to defeat Shane Conway by less than 1 foot with a 5.26 ET at 274 mph to his 5.26 ET at 270 mph, which paired her up against Jackie Fricke for the final round. Randy and the crew stepped up their tune-up combination and powered to a 5.18 ET at 273 mph for the quickest pass of the entire meet. Jackie’s 5.31 ET at 265 mph never had a chance.

“It always feels good to be in the winners circle and to get back to back wins in Texas just made it even better,” said Julie. “The race car is consistent and still hauling ass and as a driver I feel like I’m back to where I want to be on the tree. I guess a little vacation and Norwegian air was good for us.”
