The historic Mo-Kan Dragway witnessed a weekend of adrenaline-fueled action as teammates Megan Meyer and Deni Jensen of Randy Meyer Racing went head-to-head in a series of gripping match races. Despite encountering initial electrical challenges with Megan’s GUNK dragster, the team’s resilience and determination prevailed, setting the stage for an unforgettable showdown.
The excitement kicked off on Friday night with Race 1, pitting Megan against Deni for a nitro showdown. While Megan faced early challenges with tire smoke, Deni seized the opportunity and secured the victory despite traction issues down the track. However, the tables turned in Race 2 on Saturday as Megan blazed a trail with a remarkable 3.60 ET at 214 mph in the 1/8th mile, narrowly edging out Deni’s close 3.61 ET at 220 mph.
The climactic tie-breaker unfolded in Race 3, with Megan delivering a stunning performance, clocking an improved 3.59 ET at 215 mph, skillfully navigating a pedal job to clinch the win. Deni, too, displayed remarkable prowess but ultimately slowed to a 3.63 ET at 200 mph, conceding victory to Megan on Saturday night.
Despite facing challenging weather conditions, the entire team rallied together, showcasing unwavering dedication and teamwork to ensure both dragsters were race-ready. Their efforts amidst the heat and rain underscored their commitment to excellence on the track.
