The Randy Meyer Racing Team will be celebrating their 40th year of drag racing this year, and they have partnered with Crane Cams to be an associate sponsor for the Lone Star Nationals, April 4th – 7th, at Texas Motorplex. Driving for Crane Cams is Rachel Meyer, Randy Meyer’s youngest daughter, who placed third in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Central Regional Series in 2018.

“I’m very excited to return to Texas Motorplex this weekend for my first Top Alcohol race of the year,” said Rachel. “Last year was my first time racing at the Dallas track, and I hope we can repeat our success. I have been bracket racing with my Super Comp car a few times this year to get as much track time as possible, and I am able to bring that experience up to the A/Fuel ranks to help cut great reaction times and keep the adrenaline going between runs while working in the pits.”

Rachel, who already has one win under her belt for the 2019 season, finished in the quarter-finals of this event in 2018 and will be racing alongside her sister, Megan Meyer, for the first time this year. Megan finished with a runner-up in the 2018 Lone Star Nationals, and the girls are confident in their nitro-fueled dragsters to power them to another double-winner’s circle finish.

The Meyer sisters got their start at drag racing 15 years ago with Junior Dragsters, while Randy began in 1979 racing and building dragsters. Since then, Randy has won two World Championships, set multiple track records, and currently has over 80 race wins with his team.

“As we all know, Randy Meyer has been in the drag racing scene for a very long time,” said Robert Freund, Customer Service Technician at Crane Cams. “Whether as a driver, owner, or crew chief, he has seen it all. Here at Crane Cams, we recognize the value of his experience and feedback we have received throughout our long-lasting relationship. We are excited to continue this relationship through his daughters, the 2017 & 2018 Central Regional Champion Megan Meyer and the rising star Rachel Meyer. Their knowledge and dedication to the sport as a drivers and mechanics is impressive. We are proud to be on board for the 2019 season and hopefully more to come!”

Crane Cams offers multiple racing parts, including camshafts, lifters, valve springs, pushrods, rocker arms, and more. Randy has trusted Crane Cams’ camshafts and lifters since he began racing 40 years ago to power all of his dragsters to victory. “I built a relationship with Chase Night and Crane Cams in the beginning of my racing career,” said Randy. “We’re happy to continue that relationship going forward with my girls driving and our other rental drivers. Many people make cams, but we are loyal to Crane Cams because they are the best, and we will continue to stand behind their great quality products.”

The Randy Meyer Racing Team will get one qualifying session Thursday night, followed by two sessions on Friday, and eliminations for the Top Alcohol classes will be held on Saturday. Live race coverage can be seen on Drag Racer TV on YouTube here each day, and the team will stay up-to-date on their social media accounts with round-by-round action.
